TUMAR VILLAGE RESORT

Our team’s approach to the Tumar Village Resort, includes three concept master plan options, “Central Park,” “Canalside,” and “The Organic.” Located east of the city of Nursultan, the relatively flat site has both a developable resort village zone and a forested conservation zone, with natural springs. Each concept scheme accommodates a similar program of resort and recreation uses – sports complex, clubhouse with restaurant, various cottage types for rent and for sale, children’s playgrounds, year-round sports activities, a man-made recreation lake, and a system of interconnected trails for passive and active recreation.

Given the harsh winter climate of the region, Tumar Village Resort provides a range of indoor and outdoor activity opportunities. The Sports Complex is designed for conducting the training process of the national teams of the Republic of Kazakhstan in power sports including Greco-Roman wrestling (free-style and women’s), weightlifting, and Judo. The building also includes conference space and an indoor swimming pool. The 220-key hostel (generally for team accommodations) is adjacent to the Sports Complex. The hostel building includes a dining hall, fitness center, and game room and is surrounded by recreation grounds for a playground, running track, table tennis, and volleyball.

Three types of cottages are featured at the Village, one- and two-story rentals to accommodate one and two families respectively, and two-story, single-family cottages for sale. The style of architecture blends traditional and modern mountain resort-styles featuring exposed timber beams, floor to ceiling window to optimize views, and stonework.

The recreational lake is at the center of all schemes and is intended to the be the unifying feature of the village resort. The half-hectare lake will accommodate small piers for swimming, kayaking and fishing.

Additional amenities include children’s playgrounds, winter slides for sledding, balloon rides, rope walk, and numerous trailheads to access the recreational hiking trails located in the forest area.
